CustomWeather Continues Success in Wireless with go2 Partnership

San Francisco, CA—August 9, 2001—CustomWeather, the foremost supplier of syndicated weather data, announced today that it will supply weather forecasts to go2® for use within its wireless location-based directory and information services platform.

CustomWeather’s announcement of its partnership with go2 is a continuation of the momentum that the company has been gaining in the wireless marketplace. Earlier this year, CustomWeather announced its partnership with LocatioNet, a platform-provider for wireless location-based services. In addition, CustomWeather has directly supplied weather data to a number of companies that include weather forecasts as part of the content offerings they provide to their mobile customers.

“go2 is working to make our end users’ mobile experience complete by providing relevant information based on their location,” said go2 founder and CEO Lee Hancock. “CustomWeather’s local data will enhance our location-based services and allow go2 to deliver more pertinent, vital information to our users and enhance our merchants’ ability to help their customers save time and money.”

“CustomWeather’s ability to deliver in XML format makes us extremely desirable from a technology standpoint,” says Geoff Flint, CEO of CustomWeather. “The fact that we also geo-code our forecasts—which are so much more granular than any other weather resource makes us a good fit for go2’s wireless location based services.”
