Color WML now available from CustomWeather

SAN FRANCISCO — November 25, 2002 — CustomWeather, the leading supplier of syndicated custom weather data, announced today the availability of its weather WML services in color. After launching its color wireless weather services in October via Vodafone Live! in Europe, CustomWeather continues to lead the industry by offering worldwide weather forecast data in highly sought-after formats and multiple languages, reinforcing its commitment to providing cutting-edge weather solutions.

CustomWeather has designed its color WML service to include vibrantly colored, contour weather maps (such as high temperature, low temperature, precipitation, sunshine index, dew point, visibility, UV index, winds, and jet stream) along with satellite imagery and dozens of color weather icons. The result is an eye-catching, exciting color wireless weather service. Specific weather applications for special interests such as skiing and marine have also been created, offering a breadth of content never before seen on wireless with a wide array of content ranging from earthquake reports to ski conditions to surf alerts to 7-day forecasts. All content is available on a local level for more than 58,000 cities around the globe.

CustomWeather’s color wireless solution is linearly scalable, utilizing the open source Openwave Useability Interface (OUI) to allow for optimal display on all WAP-enabled devices. Weather can be requested by coordinates, city names, city identifiers, or postal codes for locations all around the world. The color wireless service is already available in English, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese and Dutch, and additional languages are continually being added.
